Nankuri Norwegian Elkhounds

Elkhounds  are not the dog for everyone, but they are a joy to live with. sure they loose a lot of fur when its shedding season and thats the time they need the most grooming, at other times they are a very easy breed to look after, they do not need to be trimmed or clipped, just a good brush and the occasional bath.

They love to be a member of the family and are loving companions, be prepared to be greeted when you come home after an outing or work, they love to be around you, sit with you while you are on the computer or watching TV. but they also love to be out, walking, chasing a ball, visiting or any where you are.

The Elkhound is a very hardy breed and has a long life span, so be prepared to have this breed for anything up to 14 or more years. they have very few health issues and as long as you watch their diet (they do love food) they will live a long healthy life.

Although they can be a little boisterous when young, I have always found them good with children and older people.
